In downtown Chicago for Christ sakes!! I mean I live in Birmingham Alabama, half white, half black. We live in harmony here. What’s up with our northern neighbors??????? Does this happen in other larger cities??? No hate please, I’m trying to understand. I have many black friends. If whites were shown in this manner in a church what would happen??? I’m not ashamed to say I was outraged. A church is a place to bring love into the world… We’re all human beings for Christ sakes, and it’s 2008.
Any thoughts????????????

    The fact that you see a few black people in a church agreeing to what wright said does not mean every black person in the US agrees with wright!
    “You were totally shocked that black people talked this way in a church??” Meaning all black people in the world huh? Are you thinking you have just made a very intelligent and what kind of impression are you trying to give about your own race by saying “black people”?
    And giving me (a down) thumbs rating for telling you what you did wrong and you denying it will not help you in any way and this is not hatred! If i said “you whites are very wicked people” because of the KKK in the US a long time ago that would be a foolish thing to say because i wiould be generalising….
    And i am not being hateful by telling you this i am trying to make myself clear as possible…Its very upsetting that when (some) people come to yahoo answers they start generalising immediately when it comes to the context of race and they start posting all kinds of false information without evidence too….NO offence and sorry if i sounded too harsh..

    Try to immerse yourself into a culture other than your own. Yes, these comments are made in SOME black churches. When you don’t understand what is it to be oppressed you wouldn’t get it and no one expects you to. All I can encourage you to do is EXPOSE yourself to the black culture . Having “A” black friend doesn’t count and is not enough.
    I am open to further conversation about this topic so email me if you want to.
    WOW Stazilla, are you not totally amazed at yourself for refering to African Americans as coloreds? Let me guess, your not a racist right?

    It totally amazed me to hear someone talk like that in church…and worse yet all the members were clapping and cheering….are all coloreds this racist? Are they plotting a racial war? Do they know that Jesus does not find this type of behavior acceptable…especially in church.

    It is a waste of time for you to try and rationalize with blacks about this..It would be easier to discuss with a 4 yr old
